And totally with you on your assessment. I like Joe Thornton as much as the next guy. He's a total beast and one of the better centers of the decade, but he has a ton of work to get up to Sakic status.
You stated he only has 1 cup? I think you meant 2 ;)
@ unlearn:It was a "Center of the decade" competition. He only had one in the 2000's.
1) When Thornton carries his team in the post season THEN we'll take him seriously as a leader. Until then he's a very nice/talented player who doesn't have that intangible that Sakic, Yzerman, Messier, Trottier, etc, possess/possessed
